Glodon Highlights the Power of Digitalisation at UK Construction Week
Digitalisation is emerging as a powerful force within the construction industry, revolutionising traditional practices and driving unprecedented efficiency, productivity, and sustainability.
As a leading digital building platform service provider, Glodon showcased the tremendous potential of digitalisation in shaping the future of construction by sharing valuable insights and engaging in collaborative discussions during UK Construction Week in London.
The event is the UK's largest gathering of professionals in the built environment held during 2-4 May 2023, championing a cultural shift in how to build for the future.
Glodon Vice President Pierpaolo Franco delved into the tangible benefits of embracing digitalisation throughout the construction lifecycle during his speech "From Blueprint to Bright Future: Embracing Digitalisation for Sustainable Buildings" at the Digital Construction Hub. He emphasised how digital technology, such as BIM, digital twins and IoT enables seamless collaboration, accurate visualisation, efficient project management, and sustainability.
Franco also highlighted how, with cutting-edge data technology, Glodon's digital building platform could provide a digital twin solution to optimise resource allocation in the entire lifecycle of buildings and enable all stakeholders to coordinate in the supply chain with a real case.
Glodon's commitment to spearheading this transformative journey was underscored in a round table discussion held by Glodon and the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) on BIM integration challenges.
The session served as a platform for industry influencers to exchange experiences, share best practices, and identify strategies to maximise the benefits of BIM integration.
Cristina Savian, nima international ambassador and Digital Twin expert at BE-WISE, said, "We were thrilled to have the chance to participate in a roundtable discussion with CIOB and Tier 1 contractors, where we discussed some of the challenges of implementing BIM in the industry. It was an excellent opportunity to share ideas and brainstorm solutions to overcome some of the challenges, such as those related to people and processes. While numerous technology solutions are already available, widespread adoption has not yet reached a level sufficient to transform the industry."
